Calling all moms!

HELP! My kid wont sleep!!! He is a great napper during the day, he even goes to bed really easily. But then he wakes up to eat and wont go back to sleep. Instead he wants to scream and be held. All. Night. Long.

Help!!!
Oh, and the lamb chair no longer appeases him... awesome.
Any and all suggestions are welcome!!

  2. I used a book called Babywise for all 3 of my kids and they all slept through the night at 2-3 months, just like the book said. It is worth a try?

  3. This too shall pass...I promise. And, around 5-6 months you can try the Ferber Method. It saved my marriage. That's all I got. Sorry. Hang in there.

  4. I was a HUGE fan of the Baby Whisperer - www.babywhisperer.com. Check out the message boards under sleep. I hope it helps and you get some rest soon!

  5. Oh no! I remember this! Gianna did this until she was about 2 months old... sorry if that discourages you :( They will learn on their own eventually that when lights are out & it's dark outside that means "sleep until it's light again."

Call me & I'll try & remember some things we did to help!

  6. I don't have any suggestions either...you know that I need all the help that I can get right now with his screaming! :) But we too are following Baby Wise, and it does really seem to help us out! It keeps us on schedule, and it helps him to know what's going to happen in his day.

  7. Bring him in the bed with you. Around 2/3 months, something changes and he'll be easily transitioned back out... Thats what we did.

  8. Hello! I came across your blog through another that I read and wanted to second what Leslie said about The Baby Whisperer. I'm expecting my first in April, but from all of the success stories I've read, I'd bet money that her methods and theories work. I love that they are not extreme in one way or another and just seems logical. Babies that are a product of her EASY routine are said to sleep through the night by 8 weeks.

  9. We did Babywise & Baby Whisper for our first child and it was a life saver. Just had our second one 2 weeks ago and am on the same routine - it really worked for us - but I know every family and kiddos are different. Hang in there, it sounds like you are doing great.

  11. He might have acid reflux.. worth a try to ask the doc. It hurts his little tummy and sometimes cn be at a certian part of the night. I would feed my baby on demand and that helps too.Can you pump a bottle and have your hubby feed him and let you sleep for a bit? A bottle will fill him up and make him more sleepy. Good luck , I have a 1yr old that STILL doesnt sleep through the night even with the Ferber Method, baby whisper or any method. Some babies are just this way :)

  12. I liked the baby whisperer too. But to be honest, I can't really remember how we got Jayci to sleep through the night - it just happened. And I feel like it WILL happen, no matter what method you choose . . . And remember that it's ALL a phase.

I tried to look at some of my old blog posts to see if I left myself any wisdom on how to get her to sleep. Alas, I did not. Which is probably going to bite me in the butt when we have another one . . . but anyways, I did read a lot about treasuring the moment and knowing that this too shall pass! :-)

  13. hi there. i stumbled upon your blog and wanted to offer what worked for us. we realized early that our son enjoyed white noise. i actually researched it online, and ended up buying a CD that played nothing but hairdryer noise. i would put that in a CD player in the corner of his room and hit repeat to let it play all night long. it was a lifesaver for us. we are expecting baby #2 in june, and believe me, i have that CD on standby. :)

  14. I just discussed sleeping issues with the Ped yesterday. She said that it might be too quite and too dark for the baby. She said that babies will actually sleep to avoid noise and distrations. Last night we let ours sleep in his bouncy seat which has a little heartbeat sound that it plays and we made sure to leave the nightlight on. Worked like a charm and last night was the first time he slept between the hours of midnight and 4am. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is us turning a corner!

  15. Aww I definitely feel your pain I think you just have to try different things to see what will work for your little man... no two kids are alike. Bryce is two and still wakes up every night at 4 like clock work screaming his head off... he was an awful sleeper from the night we brought him home. I remember putting him in his adorable lil craddle all excited and it was like there was needles in it he'd scream and scream!!! HE Never slept in it not once. Good luck mommy I hope you find something that works for Keating!
